Komusō
Komusō (Japanese: 虚無僧, Komusō, "priest of nothingness" or "monk of emptiness") were wandering non-monastic lay Buddhists, from the warrior-class (samurai and rōnin), who were noted for wearing straw basket hats and playing the shakuhachi bamboo flute.
In Mythic Japan they are still called komosō (Japanese: 薦僧, Komusō, lit. "straw-mat monks") . Their background can be much more diverse, and they have mystical powers (Spellcasting) in addition to fighting skills. The flute, or sometimes another musical instrument, is their spellcasting focus.
