Paper Master (Yaranaika)
Tsundoku (積ん読) is the phenomenon of acquiring reading materials but letting them pile up in one's home without reading them.
Paper Master is a sorcerer who is especially talented at manipulating paper as a material component and fabric. This class is inspired by the manga and anime Read or Die (リード・オア・ダイ)[1].
Any kind of paper is your spellcasting focus. Even a small speck of paper is enough for you.
Level 3: TODO
Paper Shield. You always have the Paper Shield (紙の盾, kami-no-tate) spell prepared and you can cast it without using a spell slot once per your Proficiency Bonus. This feature recharges after your next Long Rest.

Level 6: Instant Origami
Prerequisite: some paper on you, as a component.
You can create any Medium-sized or smaller object as a Bonus Action, and instantly wear or wield it for use if you want, but the object is made of paper. This is considered a 4th-level spell for purposes of Counterspell, which can stop this feature from being used. After the object is created, it is real and non-magical, and cannot be dispelled or negated.
Created object generally weighs about 1/3 of the original item and works normally - e.g. a paper full plate gives you AC 18 but weighs only about 22 lb. GM may require an ability check (DC 15) to create an intricate or artistically appealing item. Usually this is an Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma (artistic items) check. You add your Proficiency Bonus to the check.
But after each time the item is used, you need to roll d20 or it breaks down. DC varies, see below.
- Paper armor or shield blocks an attack (i.e. would have hit without the armor or shield): DC is equal to damage it would have blocked (i.e. make a damage roll anyway).
- Paper weapon or ammunition hits a target successfully: DC is equal to AC of target. See Breaking Objects for objects' Armor Classes.
- Another paper equipment is used: GM determines DC; it's usually from easy (10) to nearly impossible (30), depending on circumstances.
Paper equipment is also flammable. If you wear a suit of paper armor and it catches fire, you take 3d6 fire damage. A worn piece of other paper equipment causes 1d6 fire damage if it catches fire. You can drop a burning weapon or shield before it damages you.
