A 'rōnin (浪人) is a samurai who has no lord or master. You might have also severed links to your family. Your master is either dead or has lost their favor or legal privilege. You are seeking employment, preferably as a vassal of a lord, or you might just be wandering aimlessly—or perhaps with a big purpose, such as becoming a Shugyōsha.

Skill Proficiencies: Athletics and Survival
Tool Proficiency: Choose any one Tool Sets (see "Equipment") to be proficient with
Equipment: Choose A or B: (A) Kanata, Wakizashi, one Tool Set (same as above), Traveler's Clothes, 5 GP; or (B) 60 GP
