Criminals

In the medieval land, Christian Inquisitors protect the people and the land against criminals. They protect the innocent from the Wrath of God, which would surely fall upon the land if the heretics (note: not heretics in the catholic sense - catholics call heretics everyone who does not join their cult), demon-possessed, witches, etc. are not caught and punished as the Bible says! The Christian Inquisitors in this game are sort of a "special force" or "secret agents", concentrating their efforts against various forms of heresy.

The various heretics (note: not as catholics define heretics) include:

  • Cathars (Albigensians)
  • Catholics, eastern orthodoxes, gnostics, arianists, monophysitists, and other false cults
  • The Demon-Possessed
    • Vampires
    • Werewolves
  • Waldenses
  • Witches.
    • The diviner, gypsy, or fortunetelling witch.
    • The chanting, canting, or calculating witch, who works by signs and numbers.
    • The veneficial or poisoning witch.
    • The exorcist or conjuring witch. E.g. creator of an animated puppet which steals milk or butter for her.
    • The gastronomic witch. E.g. maker of love potions.
    • The magical, speculative, sciential, or arted witch. E.g. member of the Order of Hermes, or a Freemason.
    • The necromancer. E.g. a witch that desecrates graves when searching for body parts.
    • The pagan witch. E.g. druid, finn, wicca.
    • A sure mark of a witch is her participation in Witches' Sabbath, but not all witches do that (not participating in Witches' Sabbath is not a proof of innocense).
  • (More coming up)

Of course, there are occasional ordinary criminals which can also be targets in the game. Rarely, the Inquisitors might encounter pagans (non-christians). They are to be converted into Christianity, or punished as practicioners of paganism.
